Since the rise of Vision 2030, King Faisal University (KFU) has witnessed transformation and development, in order to keep up with the national development movement in all areas and be at the forefront of contributing to the realization of vision guidelines. This is in light of the Company’s deep belief in the impact of these guidelines on making the future of the nation as well as its initiative to mobilize all of its scientific, research and service potential with the aim of maximizing their investment capabilities and strategic presence on the national transformation map. The King Faisal University (KFU) is guided by the wise leadership calling for diversifying sources of incomes, localizing strategic industries, establishing companies, applying privatization of government bodies, and achieving environmental sustainability. The higher education has received the greater share of attention and care of these wise guidelines, as the sons and daughters of the nation are the real national projects that define the features of the nation and its bright future. Therefore, the royal approval of the new university system has been the starting point for a qualitative shift towards improving the efficiency of the educational environment, seeking to diversify the sources of financial resources, and giving universities more managerial flexibility in view of their dependence on their own capabilities towards achieving goals and serving our dear Country.

King Faisal University is an integrated service scientific research city, that repletes with Allah’s grace first and then the generous support and attention of our wise leadership, may Allah bless it, along with its national and international specialized cadres and modern potentials and equipment, all working in one organization according to a comprehensive strategic planning derived from National Transformation Plans, in order to contribute to achieving the Vision 2030 objectives. This vision aims to achieve the food and development security through creating a sustainable system which includes research, development, measurement, and food processing; to be in Al-Ahsa Governorate and the Eastern Province a main partner of food manufacturing and techniques sector; to be part of the field of excellence and distinction nationally, regionally and internationally; and to achieve qualitative leaps in education fields, scientific research and community partnership, since it takes an active role in maximizing the impact of Al-Ahsa Oasis historical, geographical and economic position and registering it as a world heritage site and a capital of Arab tourism for 2019 and the largest palm oasis in the world according to the Guinness Book of Records. Hence, the university reconsidered its calculations to be in its optimal position, and to plan its future path, based on a developmental identity, towards achieving a contribution to food security and environmental sustainability, through a number of the vital fields, namely: water, agriculture, environment, management, technology, health, transportation, manufacturing, and energy; in addition to its continuation to achieve its achievements through a number of excellence tributaries. King Faisal University has recently redefined its identity and priorities, adopted a range of strategic directions and launched with firm steps to establish an integrated system for innovation and entrepreneurship, based on its knowledge and research components which are considered the rich source of pioneering ideas: Colleges, research centers, scientific boards, business development centers and units. Thanks to Allah, the continuous efforts culminated, under His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, to inaugurate the promising economic project of the University (Ahsa Valley Investment Company Ltd) which aims to work, Allah willing, in vital developmental fields, including: educational, health, agricultural, real estate services, technology and manufacturing investments, research and development business, investment and food manufacturing, manufacturing industries and services , finance and business, media, security and safety, engineering and construction business; to enhance the university’s contribution to achieving economic development for the eastern region in particular, and in line with the objectives of the National Program for National Community Development.
